Coreopsis is a cheerful drought proof garden plant that provides nonstop blooms in the summer garden. These easy to grow clump forming perennials have daisy-like flowers held on upright stems and are impressively heat tolerant.

Here are some ways to use Coreopsis in your garden.

Moonbeam Coreopsis  makes an ideal foreground plant in the garden when paired with Leucanthemum Banana Cream. This new shasta daisy colors echos the butter yellow blooms of Moonbeam.

Full Moon and Cosmic Eye Coreopsis benefit from a deep color such as red Achilleas and Astilbe.

Other plant combinations to consider: Autumn Joy Sedum, Knock Out Roses or Midnight Rose Heuchera.  These are just a few pairing ideas to get you started with easy to grow Coreopsis.  This week our summer temperatures are soaring in the 90’s and the Coreopsis are standing cheerful and happy in the sun perennial garden.
